Ophelia

Growing up, her life was pretty average by Moonbright standards. Middle-class, loving family, and a safe roof over their heads.  Ophelia had spent most of her life studying to be the best at magic and science, because she wanted her family to thrive and pursue their dreams. She also desperately wanted to get good at her fire magic, something she had very little control over during her childhood. If she could do that, she could do anything. One day, she met a boy in the courtyard of her school, who turned out to be the prince of the kingdom. It was Jamie!  The two had bonded over their love of studying magic, and the two would spend so much time together. She would often sneak out and hang out at the palace with Jamie, practicing their magic together, playing games, or talking hours on end about anything they wanted. Though, as they grew up, cracks started to form. She was always some form of a skeptic, and as the two grew up, she grew even more skeptical of Jamie’s parents. What once started as a passion to help her family achieve their dreams, grew into horror as to what the system did to prevent her parents or people like them from thriving. It didn’t help when her own father was arrested over a crime he did not commit. On the night of the festival, she vowed to Jamie that she’d come back for him, and she ran away from Moonbright.

For the next few years she lived in the neighboring kingdom of Oakwood. She soon joined a pirate crew consisting of Seymour, Delilah, and Oberon. They all sailed the seas, encountering many obstacles and creatures that Ophelia couldn’t believe. She spent many months with them until one mission that changed her perspective on them forever. After a brutal battle, she too left them behind, and she kept running and running, not wanting to face her past. Years later, she came back after hearing rumors of a girl from another world running around causing havoc. Using this as an excuse to see what Jamie was up to and to see her family again, she decided to investigate what was happening. After spying on them and seeing what their motives were, she realizes she could enact her revenge on Zeph – after all these years, she could avenge her family. She decides to help Kate and the gang to achieve their mission.
